We protect author rights while promoting lawful, discoverable reuse. This page explains what authors and readers may do with UAR Publisher content, how rights are managed, and how licensing supports indexing, preservation and reuse.
Default License: CC BY 4.0
By default, UAR Publisher publishes articles under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Authors retain copyright and grant the publisher a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute and archive the work.
What Authors Retain
Full Copyright: Authors retain full copyright to their original work.
Reuse Rights: The right to share, post, and reuse their article without embargo.
Granting Power: The right to grant licenses to others, contingent on the CC BY 4.0 conditions.
In return, authors grant UAR Publisher a non-exclusive, perpetual license to publish, distribute, archive, and make the article available in all formats.
CC BY 4.0: Permitted Reuse & Conditions
Under CC BY 4.0, anyone may lawfully reuse the article, provided they meet the attribution condition.
What Readers Can Do (The ‘BY’ Rights)
- Read, download and store the work indefinitely.
- Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
- Adapt, remix, translate and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercial use.
- Deposit the final published version in any repository.
The Condition (Attribution – The ‘BY’)
- Must give appropriate credit to the original authors.
- Must provide a link to the license (CC BY 4.0).
- Must clearly indicate if changes were made or if the work is a derivative.
- Attribution must not suggest the publisher or author endorses the new use.
Author Self-Archiving & Preprints (Green Open Access)
UAR Publisher fully supports Green Open Access. Authors are permitted to self-archive all versions of their work immediately.
Preprints
Allowed prior to submission. Authors must disclose preprint DOI/URL during submission.
Accepted manuscript (post-print)
Immediate deposit in institutional or subject repositories is permitted and encouraged under CC BY 4.0.
Published Version (VoR/PDF)
Authors may self-archive the final published PDF version (Version of Record), provided full citation and license are included.
Metadata & Machine-Readability (for Indexers)
For every article, we ensure compliance with indexer and funder mandates by displaying both human-readable and machine-readable license information.
