Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) Implementation and its Impact on Women Development in Nigeria, 2000-2024.

This study examines the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Nigeria, with a specific focus on its impact on women’s development. The SDGs, adopted by the United Nations in 2015, provide a global framework for achieving a more equitable, prosperous, and sustainable world by 2030. Nigeria, like other countries, has committed to implementing these goals, recognizing their importance in addressing pressing national and global challenges. The study explores the progress made in implementing SDG 5 (Gender Equality) in Nigeria, highlighting the challenges faced by Nigerian women in achieving gender equality and empowerment. It examines the impact of SDG implementation on women’s development, including their access to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and decision-making positions. The findings of this study reveal that while Nigeria has made some progress in implementing the SDGs, significant challenges persist, including limited funding, cultural and social barriers, and inadNigeria.The study concludes that the implementation of the SDGs has the potential to promote women’s development in Nigeria, but it requires a concerted effort from government, civil society, and other stakeholders to address the challenges and barriers faced by women. The study recommends increased investment in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment programs for women, as well as policies and practices that promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.
